Harbor Town Days asks nothing of you. No boss, no timer, no failure state to speak of. You just make small improvements and watch the place come alive, and somehow that reset my brain.
There's real design skill in that. Cozy games have to keep you engaged without pressure, which means the little loops need to feel rewarding on their own. Character stories help a lot here.
I'm not saying swap all your games for gentle sims. But keeping one on your phone for the burnout days is smart. It's the palate cleanser between the heavy stuff.
