Strategy Games That Fit a Coffee Break
I love strategy games, but most feel designed for a desk and a long evening. On mobile, that's a mismatch. The clever ones find a way to give you meaningful decisions in ten-minute chunks.
Ironline Command is my current example. Missions are short, but every one asks a real question about supply and positioning. You can plan a route on your break and finish the fight later without losing the thread.
The design trick is keeping the state simple enough to grasp instantly when you reopen the app. If I have to relearn my own plan every time I come back, I'll drift away.
Watch for games that fake depth with endless menus. Real strategy is about tension between choices, not the number of screens you tap through.
If you've avoided strategy on mobile because you thought it needed hours, try one built around short missions. You might be surprised how much thinking fits into a coffee break.
